Craig Everett Margate, Tasmania Death-In Loving Memory
It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Craig Everett, a beloved cultural knowledge-sharer and a foundational spirit of the ECHO Festival community.
Craig was there from the festival’s very beginning, generously and honestly sharing his rich Pakana and Palawa culture with all—embodying the principle of #sacrednotsecret. He walked strong in culture, deeply grounded in Country and guided by his Ancestors. Craig carried this knowledge with immense pride and an open heart, “loving people up” and drawing community together through his warmth, humour, and inclusive kindness.
His passing leaves a deep void. We send our deepest love and condolences to Trisha Hodge, to Craig’s wonderful children, the entire Everett family, and all extended families across lutruwita during this time of Sorry Business.
While he will be terribly missed, we are comforted that his powerful legacy continues through his children and resonates within the community he helped build. Craig’s spirit of generosity and connection lives on in our hearts and across the nation.
