Stilfontein Mourns the Loss of Young Klerksdorp High Learner, Chezlyn Palmer
Stilfontein residents are united in grief following the passing of 17-year-old Chezlyn Palmer, a learner at Klerksdorp High School, whose untimely death has left the community heartbroken.
Chezlyn collapsed at a local shop on Wednesday, 07 January 2026, after which he was placed in a coma. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals and the prayers of a hopeful community, he sadly passed away on the morning of Friday, 09 January 2026. His passing marks a devastating loss of a young life filled with promise, dreams, and potential.

Known among his peers as a respectful and kind-hearted young man, Chezlyn’s death has deeply affected his family, friends, classmates, and teachers. Tributes have poured in from across Stilfontein and Klerksdorp, reflecting the impact he made in his short life and the love so many had for him.
We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his grandmother, his parents, Loraine Palmer and Leonard Palmer, his sister, and the entire Palmer family. Our thoughts also go out to his friends, school community, and all who knew and loved him.
